Playing on a minimum of 60 LCD screens, already supplied by Sharp, who are a key sponsor of Pulse, the information and news channel is shown in lobbies, waiting areas, VIP areas, food courts and restaurants.

"We are pleased to extend this service to our business partners and visitors as it demonstrates our commitment to the ongoing development and enhancement of the free zones services and infrastructure," said Dr. Amina Al Rustamani, CEO of TECOM Business Parks.

ImageAs well as providing an impressive selection of programmes and news features for the community, channel interaction, whereby viewers are encouraged to influence and help to create material for Pulse, is also part of the service.

Saeed Al-Naji, Managing Partner of Media Workshop, the company credited for the development of the concept and responsible for operating Pulse, said he was excited by the project and was keen to emphasize the new channel's community role. He said; "The majority of the content on Pulse will be sourced and supplied by third parties. Contribution of content by members of the TECOM community is strongly encouraged and will receive priority."

"Media Workshop has been appointed to operate Pulse within the TECOM Free Zones due to the company's successful track record in the launch and management of the region's first tourist information television channel, EYE ON DUBAI. Media Workshop will be responsible for all aspects of the channel's operations including creative development, technical set-up, content sourcing and production, management of the transmission schedule, and advertising sales," commented Mohamed Al Mulla, Executive Director of Dubai Media City and Executive Director of TECOM Marketing and Corporate Affairs.

ImageAl-Naji explained; "Pulse features profiles of companies based in the free zones. Other localised content includes Free Zones job postings, advice from experts covering various industries and topics, Free Zones calendar of events and announcements, but most importantly, communications from TECOM's management targeting business partners, employees, and visitors. Overall, Pulse will aim to bridge cultures, geographic distances, and lateral business units."

"Leading international and regional businesses contributing content were not the only ones quick to support the channel in its pre-launch phase, but technology partners such as du (title sponsor) Ventuz Technology Group, Sharp, HP, and Sony Broadcast did not hesitate to invest in the launch," adds Al-Naji.

"Pulse is an innovative new communication tool which aligns with our vision of developing and supporting new technology" concluded Hala Badri, the Executive Vice President of Corporate Communications at du.
